Principal - Sr Asma Khan

Sr. Asma Khan has served as the Principal of Hamza Academy since 2019, bringing with her over two decades of experience in the field of education. She holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a combination that equips her with both strong instructional knowledge and effective leadership skills. She began her career as an educator in 2000 and spent nine years working directly as a classroom teacher before transitioning into administrative roles. This extensive teaching experience gives her a practical, firsthand understanding of student learning, instructional strategies, and classroom dynamics.

Deeply committed to fostering academic excellence alongside strong character development, Sr. Asma approaches leadership with a student-centered mindset. Driven by a passion for Islamic education, she envisions a future in which Islamic schools uphold the highest standards of academic rigor and moral development, standing on par with top-tier public school systems. Sr Nafeza Beskardes
PreK - 3rd Grade

Sr Nafeza Beskardes holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education & Special Education from SUNY Old Westbury College and brings over 9 years of teaching experience across diverse educational settings, including public, private, and international schools. Currently, Sr Nafeza is furthering her expertise by pursuing a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, deepening her knowledge in educational theory and practice.

As a Curriculum and Instruction Advisor, Sr Nafeza applies her extensive experience in tailoring educational approaches to meet the individual needs of students. She is dedicated to creating adaptable and engaging learning experiences that empower teachers to foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere where all students feel challenged, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Her approach blends evidence-based practices with a passion for inspiring curiosity and fostering a lifelong love of learning. Bushra Zaman -
Grade 4th to 8th

Bushra Zaman graduated from Queens College with a Master’s in Education and has over a decade of teaching experience. She has been a valued member of the Hamza Academy community for many years. As a Curriculum and Instruction Advisor, Sr Bushra combines her passion for teaching with a commitment to shaping innovative and inclusive curriculum designs that inspire and challenge both students and educators.

Sr Bushra is deeply dedicated to creating learning environments where students feel confident, comfortable, and empowered to think creatively. She believes that fostering curiosity and independence is essential for helping students excel and develop the critical thinking skills needed to process information at higher levels. With a focus on nurturing intellectual growth, Bushra works collaboratively with teachers to design curricula that engage students while encouraging exploration and creativity.

Br Mushezul Islam

Br. Islam serves as the Coordinator of Student Affairs and School Advancement at Hamza Academy, where he plays a central role in fostering student discipline, positive behavior, and character development.

Br. Islam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree, reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional growth and educational excellence. He brings several years of hands-on experience in education, including work within charter school settings, which has broadened his perspective on diverse learning environments and student needs. With a strong background in Elementary Education, Br. Islam supports students through guidance rooted in understanding, consistency, and age-appropriate expectations. His classroom and leadership experience enable him to address both academic and behavioral development with a balanced, student-centered approach.

As a Hafiz-ul-Qur’an, Br. Islam thoughtfully integrates Islamic values, adab, and accountability into daily student life, helping nurture respectful and responsible learners. He is deeply invested in mentoring students and fostering positive relationships that encourage growth and self-discipline. Through his continued education and dedicated service, Br. The office provides parents with complete information about enrollment requirements and guides them step by step through the process to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for both students and their families.

From the initial registration phase to final admission, the Registration Office facilitates the enrollment of each child by ensuring that all required documentation and procedures are completed efficiently and accurately. In addition to managing admissions, the office is responsible for coordinating student books and transportation services, ensuring that students are fully prepared and able to participate in the academic program from the start of the school year.

Through these services, the Front Office helps maintain an organized and supportive system that benefits students, parents, and the broader school community.

The Accounts Office at Hamza Academy is responsible for managing the financial operations that support the academy’s programs, services, and daily functions. Its responsibilities encompass a wide range of financial and administrative tasks essential to the smooth and efficient operation of the school.
Key functions of the Accounts Office include budget tracking and oversight, payroll management, financial reporting, and cash flow monitoring. The office also manages purchasing and supply coordination to ensure that departments and classrooms have the resources they need to operate effectively.

In addition, the Accounts Office conducts auditing processes to maintain financial accuracy and transparency. The office oversees collective bargaining activities when applicable and manages insurance and risk management to protect the academy’s assets and operations.

Further responsibilities include coordinating food services for students and staff, as well as engaging in grant writing efforts to secure additional funding that supports the academy’s educational programs and initiatives.
